Baking From The Heart Bendigo
This week, Mark O’Shea caught up with Rhiannon Horrell from Baking From The Heart – Bendigo, a small organisation that Rhiannon brought over from her hometown in New Zealand.
“Baking From the Heart is a group of volunteers who create food and sweet treats for local palliative care patients. We bake once every six weeks.”
A wonderful organisation doing something very meaningful which touches the heart of many who have experienced a palliative care situation.
Baking from Heart hand deliver these packages of sweet treats and ‘comfort food’ to the wonderful nurses at the palliative unit of Bendigo Health once every six weeks – with the sole purpose of putting a smile on the faces of those they serve.
Well done Rhiannon and all of the volunteers involved for all the effort you are putting in.
If you would like to volunteer to bake some goodies for the next delivery – please contact Rhiannon through their facebook page –
Another way to help out is the provision of baking ingredients, cake boxes and the like for volunteers to use on bake days – please also contact Rhiannon through their facebook page for further details.
